Machinery Wiring & Maintenance
When a machine stops, it rarely stops on its own. The line behind it backs up, operators stand idle and orders slip. ICE Electrical installs, wires, maintains and repairs the electrical side of production machinery, so your equipment runs safely and keeps running.
Keep the line moving
From connecting a new machine to tracing an intermittent fault on a drive that only trips on the night shift, our engineers understand both the power side and the control side of industrial equipment.

Our machinery wiring & maintenance treatment process
Step 1 Contact
Tell us about the machine, the fault or the change you need, and send any wiring diagrams or manuals you have. That helps our engineer arrive prepared.
Step 2 The Quote
For installations and planned maintenance you get a fixed quotation. For breakdowns, we confirm how attendance is charged and agree repair costs before work starts.
Step 3 The Works
Our engineer isolates and locks off the equipment, carries out the wiring, repair or maintenance, and tests safety circuits before handing the machine back.
Step 4 After care
You receive test results and a written report covering the work, safety circuit checks and any issues found, prioritised so you know what to address first.

Safety comes first
Machinery brings particular risks: unexpected start-up, stored energy and people working close to moving parts. The electrical side is often what stands between an operator and a serious injury.
Under PUWER 1998, employers must make sure work equipment is suitable, maintained and fitted with the right controls, including emergency stops and isolation. The electrical equipment of machines is covered by BS EN 60204-1. When we wire or modify a machine, we make sure isolation is clear and lockable, emergency stops do what they should, and safety circuits are tested before the machine goes back into use.
Every job on machinery starts with a safe isolation and lockout procedure. Our engineers will not work on equipment that hasn't been proved dead, however tight the production schedule is.
Motors and drives
Variable speed drives save energy and give better control, but they also bring their own faults: nuisance tripping, overheating, harmonics and parameter problems after a power cut. We install, programme and troubleshoot drives, check motor insulation resistance and current draw, and look for the cause of repeated trips rather than simply resetting them.
If a motor is running hot or drawing more current than it should, it's telling you something. Catching it early means a planned replacement instead of a breakdown.
Preventive maintenance for machinery
Most electrical breakdowns on production equipment come from a handful of causes: loose terminals, worn contactors, damaged flexible cables and contamination from dust, oil or water. A planned maintenance routine checks for all of them.
Our maintenance visits typically include visual inspection of panels and cabling, tightening of terminations, testing of emergency stops and interlocks, insulation resistance testing of motors and a thermal imaging survey of panels under load. You receive a report of what we found and what needs attention, prioritised by risk. Maintenance for machinery can be built into a wider planned maintenance contract for the whole site.
When a machine is down
If a breakdown stops production, call 03335775805. Our commercial emergency service can have an engineer with you within 60 minutes, any time of day or night. Having your machine wiring diagrams ready helps us get you running faster.
